Three Focus Areas

We are committed to creating economic opportunities

Supporting minority-owned
restaurants

The restaurant industry is a natural entry point for minorities working to start and run their own businesses. inKind recognizes this and is committed to lifting up these communities by providing meaningful funding for minority-run restaurants.

Restaurant Industry Owner Demographics

Owner Demographics Data Brief – March 2022

Téa Ivanovic

Immigrant Food Founder – Washington, DC

“One of the most difficult things for restaurateurs who are looking to scale their business is access to capital. Independent, growing restaurants have limited resources and often don’t have access to traditional bank loans or large capital. inKind is a trailblazer in providing restaurants with growth capital while at the same time partnering to provide top-notch marketing. We couldn’t be more excited to have partnered with them for several years now! Their team is always available to help and work with partners by thinking outside the box on marketing ideas. Their innovative model has helped us grow our company and we’re looking forward to continuing this great partnership!”

Ray Yaptinchay & Jay Tugas

Spoon and Pork – Los Angeles, CA

“inKind has been a game changer for us, especially when it comes to preserving our cash flow during these unpredictable times. While our business has been busier than ever, rising expenses have made it challenging to manage finances. InKind offers a unique financing solution that perfectly fits our needs, allowing us to maintain momentum and continue growing. Their support has been invaluable.”

Erasmo (Ras) Casiano

Xiquita – Denver CO

“As a restaurant owner and chef, the ebb and flow of cash can keep you up at night. But then came InKind. Their innovative approach to financing without adding additional stress in a traditional sense. InKind not only injected much-needed capital into our business but also provided a sense of community. InKind understands what it takes to open, operate, and maintain a restaurant and has designed an ingenious way to provide funding with a “payment plan” that makes sense for restaurants. The stress of making sure your team members are paid, restocking inventory, and keeping the lights on after your water heater went down? InKind took some of that weight off our shoulders and allowed us room for growth and expansion. So, to InKind: Thank you for believing in our vision, for supporting local eateries, and for turning stress into opportunity. Lucina Eatery & Bar and our upcoming Xiquita Restaurante y Bar wouldn’t be the same without you.”

Leveling the Playing Field in the Restaurant Industry

In order to further support under-resourced
restaurateurs in the industry, inKind has
developed the Restaurant Toolkit. This
program has been tailored to foster financial
sustainability by providing pre-vetted
technologies and services to supplement
earlier-stage business operations.

Creating Safe Restaurant
Spaces Through Gun Violence Prevention

Our country is in the midst of a gun violence epidemic, affecting tens of
thousands of Americans every year.

One of the many devastating impacts of gun violence is its impact on small businesses, including restaurants. Increased gun violence in a community causes local businesses to shutter and reduce jobs.

inKind is part of the Gun Violence Solution

inkind has proudly hosted several events and fundraisers at our restaurants around the country, raising awareness about the impacts of gun violence on our communities.

March 27, 2024: A business roundtable at inKind partner restaurant, Paraíso, in Washington, DC. At this event, we gathered DC-based hospitality industry and corporate prospects to discuss the issue of gun violence.

June 7-8 2024: inKind served as a sponsor for the Ramble Music Festival in Healdsburg, California. inKind’s CEO, Johann Moonesinghe, participated in programming during the event alongside Kelly and Noah Dorrance of Reeve Wines, who have also been personally impacted by gun violence. All proceeds from the Ramble Music Festival were donated to gun violence prevention efforts.

inKind is proud to partner with GIFFORDS, a leader in the movement, to end gun violence in America.
